A Research of Catalytic Activity over Cr-MCM--48 Catalyst
-
Abstract
A series of MCM-48 mesoporous molecular sieves containing chromium were used to catalytically oxidize a-eicosanol to produce a-eicosanoic acid. Optimal reaction time and temperature for the topic reaction were reported. The evaluation of the catalytic properties of the series of chromium doped molecular sieves for the topic reaction indicates that Cr shows better modification for the catalyst. XRD and IR determinations reveal the entrance of the Cr ions into the framework of MCM--48 zeolite. The yield of a--eicosanoic acid is related with the relative intensity of L acid center of the catalysts which is approximately proportional to the amounts of the doped chromium.
