Abstract
Two new bimetallic coordination polymers, NO2BzQlMCr(ox)3∞,where NO2BzQl+=1-(p-nitrobenzyl)quinolinium, ox2-=oxalate, M=Ni2+(A) or Cu2+(B), were synthesized, and characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectra. The bonds ofνas(C=O)、δ(C=O) are at 1644、815 cm-1 for complex (A), and 1635、811 cm-1 for complex (B), respectively. The results of IR for (A) and (B) indicated that two complexes form 2-D layer structures in the solid state. The results of the variable temperature magnetic susceptibilities for (A) and (B) revealed that there exist antiferromagnetically coupled interactions both intra- and interlayer. The best fit parameters using Curie-Weiss formula are as follows: C=0.662 emu K/mol, θ=-1.658 K, and agreement factor R=2.0×10-5for (A).C=0.17 emu K/mol, θ=-0.693 K, and R=1.86×10-6for (B).
