Preparation,Detection and Collision Decay of Angular Momentum Orientation in Molecules

Using stimulated Raman pumping the angular momentum of molecules in a vibrationall excited state can be oriented.Linear molecules like acetylene can be prepared with rovibrational state selectivity with an orientation parameter of A0(1)=0.7 to 0.8.The rate con-stants of Orientation decay have been also at first time measured.
